On to the quarterfinals!!!

So my mom's (USA) women's team passed through the Round Robin event with flying colors!! They needed to be 5th or better in their division, and they were 2nd, so no nailbiter there!

Friday they played in the round of 16, in which the top 8 teams advanced. USA beat out Spain (sorry, Iranzu!) so they are currently in the quarterfinals playing against Denmark (other quarterfinalists are Germany, China, England, France, Turkey, and Russia).

The quarterfinals lasts for two days, and 4 of the 8 teams will advance to the semifinals! They are halfway through, and so far USA is beating Denmark by 16 points! The last 3 rounds will be played tomorrow (which is tonight, as we sleep here in the US!) Go Mom!!
