World Class!

Some of you may know, but some may not, that not only is my mom one of the best moms and grandmas in the world, but she is ALSO a world class bridge player - literally! She plays professionally, meaning people pay her to be on their team so they havea better chance to win tournaments. My grandfather taught her to play when she was 15, and she became a Life Master 3 years later - a feat that takes most people a lifetime! She has won more than ten national championships (I can't keep count!!), and has two gold medals, one silver and two bronze medals from world championships!

Anyway, she is currently in Raleigh, NC at the "trials" where she is competing against other championship caliber teams to see who gets to go represent the US in the world championships this year! You can follow her progress at this website: http://usbf.org/index.php?option=com_vugraphs&event=USWBC2008 if you're interested. Her team name is "Moss". They already won first place in the Round Robin, and are down to only 4 teams, starting the semifinals today! Semifinal results should start getting posted this afternoon.

GO MOM!!!
